Why do people admire American Indian things ......?

like jewery,blankets etc.But look down on them?Some treat them like they are inferior?

Why do people admire American Indian things ......?
I don't know anyone who treats Native Americans as inferior. Why would they?
Reply:People look down on anyone/ being that doesnt have "the latest technology". Think about this : We are animals. We are mammals. Then why do people abuse animals, kill them and treat them like they are infereior? Because they are absolutly not inferior to us . its because they cant talk and arent as smart as we are as in building stuff. Same thing with indians. people admire stuff they make because they didnt have technology to make it just their bare hands and tools that they used. We are pretty much underestimating them- i would be insulted if that was me.
Reply:I think the thing about looking down on the natives varies a lot from place to place.


I remember all the cowboy and indian movies from the sixties.


Especially the serial from before the sixties called "The Lone Ranger."


I wonder how many of you know "Tonto" is actually Texicalimexican Spanish for *a stupid dummy.*





It is easy to admire the artifacts of exterminated cultures.
Reply:im from Australia and my house is full of Indian stuff from statues to pictures i started collecting them over 30 years ago.


i would have over 800 pieces in my collection.


i dont look at them as inferior i look at them as interesting.


there beliefs there life style and so on.....
Reply:My wife is Comanche, and people admire alot of Indian things because it was built with care and pride a thing we have lost in the things we built in our automated factories. They could have taught us more about being human than most other people, They once lived as a tribe, wouldn't it be nice if we could all get along that well.
