Is it true that Hopi Indians weave a different colored yarn into their blankets to make them 'imperfect'...

because they believe that only god can make something that is perfect?

The Navajo do this. There is an imperfection as an homage to Grandmother Spider who taught them to weave. I believe the Hopi do it too, but their weaving is not as widely known as the Navajo.
Reply:the last response was right... also in plains nations our beadwork has imperfections...only our creator can outdo us in our ancesteral arts..many of my relatives who bead often put a white bead in a strip...i do that too.
Reply:Yes.

It sounds stupid to me - if god was that good he could do his own imperfections.
